Here are a series of articles about the euro crisis: a general overview and an explanation, a handy diagram showing it is not just "their problem", and a page that tracks European countries in the crisis.

Here is a general overview about the issue of Palestinian statehood. This is a long article in support of Palestinian statehood from a news source that is and has been very pro-Israel. And this is from the International Crisis Group, a site well worth consulting for those interested in "crises." It is also rather long.

UN Humanitarian Affairs - a page to get started on finding out what the UN does about coordinating disaster relief.

UN Counter-terrorism Committee - gives you the UN material. For legal jurisdiction and proceedings for terrorists, it may be best to start with NGO's interested in the issue, such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, or Center for Constitutional.Rights. Here is a curious page with links to all relevant US law (about terrorism).

International Crisis Group - an excellent source on backgrounds and policies for various problems and crises around the world.

United Nations - The UN home page with links to member countries and various UN agencies.

Model UN - the organization's US page with information about how to prepare.

Model UN - US State Department site promoting Model UN.

Human Rights Watch - an excellent page of an organization that monitors human rights throughout the world and produces widely resepected reports .

Amnesty International - a variety of information about human rights throughout the world.
They also do Annual Reports.

Library of Congress - this links to the Library's Country Studies. Check the date on the individual reports
(some are more than 10 years old).

State Department - the Department's home page where you can find special sections on various countries
as well as US policy statements and reports on human rights.

CIA - this links to the CIA home page. For information on particular countries go to their World Fact Book.

FedWorld - a search engine for US government documents.

UT Websites

Each of these has individual sites for countries and covers politics, economics, society, culture and much more. They have numerous links that will help you find current information, news, and documents for your country.

Asia -

MERIP - Middle East Research and Information Project, an NGO that provides excellent background reporting (some material, but subscription is required to access most of it).

REENIC - UT site for Center for Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Countries; covers all countries once part of the Soviet Union or the Soviet sphere of influence.

Latin America - UT site for Latin American Network Information Center.
