What D-Term-education is about
D-Term is a universal theme or topic that is integrated into all of the academic classes, hosted by the 8th grade teachers and parents. D-Term is made to inform us of all the types of poverty that exist right here in Austin. The six topics; mental health, physical health, food, clothing, shelter, and education are all categories beneath poverty in which many issues arise. We are to learn all of the connections poverty has in our daily lives and what we can do to help out in our own city. There were nine speakers that addressed the middle school about the many issues and problems that are involved with being in poverty. The speakers all taught us more about poverty as well as provided us with ways that we, as a community in Austin, could help.
