Clothing Issues

By: Michael Brewer

There are many issues when it comes to clothing and the lack of clothing. In winter you need to have clothing that is adapted to the environment; warm, bulky clothing.  You can't survive these conditions without the appropriate clothing.  If you have summer clothing during winter you could get sick and put your family into even more financial problems.  If you have bulky clothing during summer you are prone to heat strokes, hot flashes, and fainting.  A lot of kids grow out of their clothing quickly and clothing can be expensive, and what happens when the family can't afford any new clothing for their children?  They can't feel comfortable anywhere they go.  The children might not be able to fit in because of their clothing. Their clothing might not be normal and might push others away from them.  They also might be teased and bullied and it might affect their concentration at school, so their education can be affected as well.  They have to wear the same clothing repeatedly for several days. Inappropriate clothing can also deprive someone of a job and push them lower and deeper into poverty.  If you wanted to be a lawyer or a business professional and didn't have the right clothing you wouldn't get the job because you don't look professional.  The mentally ill would also have a hard time getting a job because of clothing.  Since some people can't afford clothing and have to wear the same clothing they have dirty clothing and body odor could push people away from helping them.  Pregnant women would have to get new clothing for themselves and for the coming baby and it could attack them financially and hurt the family if they're not already suffering, and if the woman was pregnant with twins it would cost them even more.  Not to mention the other things for the babies like bottles, toys, diapers, pacifiers, blankets, and food.  Whenever you feel you look bad in the clothing your in you can be depressed and feel bad about your appearance which can affect your daily life.  If you develop depression you will be less motivated to try and it might lead to suicide.  You will give up any of your hopes to better yourself like get a job or getting married.  These cases are very serious and something must be done about them.
