Day 1 Leave USA
Depart from Austin to China’s Capital --Beijing. Cross the International Date Line en route.
Day 2 Beijing (D)
Arrive in Beijing, the dynamic capital of the People's Republic of China. Meet your guide and transfer to your hotel and enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 3 Beijing (B L D)
This morning, walking past Tian An Men Square, the largest public square in the
world and visit the Imperial Palace (Gugong), the once Forbidden City. With its
over 9,000 elaborately carved and colorfully painted rooms, gardens, theaters,
temples and exhibition galleries, this was the home of China's emperors for almost 500 years. In the afternoon, visit the scenic grounds of the Summer Palace
(Yiheyuan), whose apartments feature jewel-encrusted furniture and precious objects. Enjoy one of China's three greatest gardens.
Day 4 Beijing (B L SD)
Visit one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the great fortification built to
prevent invasion by barbarians-- the magnificent Great Wall. Walk on this “Wall of 10,000 Miles"" which took 10 years and more than a million laborers to build, and
look out from the highest point, at the fort at Bada Hill, from where enemy attacks were signaled to the capital by beacon fires. In the afternoon, visit the imperial
tombs of the Ming Dynasty, where thirteen of the 16 Ming emperors are buried. Thencontinue to visit the Temple of Heaven. In the evening, enjoy the world
renowned Peking Duck Banquet.
Day 5 Beijing – Xian (B L SD)
Fly to the ancient capital during 11 different Chinese dynasties. Chang'an, now
Xi'an, is rich in historical sites. During the Tang Dynasty, Chang'an was the largest city of the world and the starting point of the Silk Road. We will visit the
Drum/Bell Tower, Xi Guan Street, and the Ancient City Wall in the afternoon.
On the way back to the city, we will stop at the Wild Goose Pagoda, built under early Buddhism influence which has been Xian’s landmark for over a thousand years.For dinner tonight, we will attend the special Dumpling Banquet.
Day 6 Xian (B L D)
We will visit the Army of the Terracotta Warriors, over 7,000 life-size figures, in
the subterranean funeral vault of Qin Shi Huang. We will continue to visit Huaqing Hot Spring and Banpo Neolithic Museum. In the evening, attend the performance ofTang Dynasty Dance Show.
Day 7 Xian – Shanghai (B L D)
In the morning fly to China's premier business center, Shanghai. Upon arrival, we
visit the 16th-century Garden of Joy (Yu Garden) with its zigzagging bridges. Also, experience the old world ambiance of the waterfront known as “The Bund” and
Nanjing Road. At night, attend a performance of an acrobatic show.
Day 8 Shanghai – Suzhou – Shanghai (B L D)
This morning, we will drive to "Venice of China," Suzhou, known for it’s delicately
designed gardens. We will visit Tiger Hill, Garden of Master of Nets, Panmen WaterGate and Silk factory.
Day 9 Shanghai (B L D)
Morning tour to Shanghai Museum, and in the afternoon free at leisure for shopping
Day 10 Shanghai (B)
Transfer to airport, bid China farewell and you arrive in Austin the same day.
