Re: Latin II Fall Term Exam
The focus of your preparation should be on Stage 24.
The test falls into two parts, of which a brief translation section standard is worth about 10%, multiple-choice grammar sections are worth about 25%; and the rest is multiple-choice sight reading comprehension, cultural, derivative, and word study from Stage 24. You do not have permission to be ignorant of stray pre-Stage 24 cultural items, but the focus will be overwhelmingly on Stage 24 cultural material.
Know well the stories of Stage 24. Questions about "old" grammar are fair game, but the concentration will be on the grammar of Stage 24 and, to a lesser extent, on that of Stages 21-23. For example, you should know all about the material in the multi-page ADVERB GUIDE that relates to About the Language Notes.
As always on tests, you are responsible for all checklist vocabulary from Stage 1, Unit 1 on. You will be able to ask about the meaning of non-checklist words, but you should first check the Unit III teacher's manual ("green monster") to determine checklist status. This is a two-hour exam, maximum. I will be around for questions in class Tuesday morning, after which I will be writing tests and unavailable.
