tu 8/25/09 (A) CONGRATULATIONS ON HAVING MADE IT TO LATIN III! Distribute review packet. For specific questions about grammar see the valuable "Index of Grammatical Topics" 374f. in the Unit III textbook. Laminated Latin grammar cards are available in the bookstore at the counter! Pick up a set.
In class: begin fill-in of the many alpha 4 pages in the review packet. You may stop at the subjunctive verb forms. Assign: re-memorize the verb tense forms you recorded to the review packet today. Bring your green Unit III text to class.
wed 8/26 (B) In class: complete the verb conjugations in the Latin III review packet. Assign: read and memorize the information on participles, review packet alpha 5 and fill out the participial review pages alpha 6 (material of Stage 28).
th 8/27 (C) Check HW, working review pages alpha 7--more participles. If time, refer to verbs with a quick overview of the essential meaning of the subjunctive mood.
In class: focus on pages alpha 8-9 (purpose clauses and other subjunctive clauses). Assign: write out alpha 10 in review packet.
fri 8/28 (D) Check HW. Work page alpha 11. Assign: memorize indicative mood verb synopses in review packet. Announced review quizzes over noun declensions and single tenses start next week. Notice that you have an important assignment on Monday though class does not meet that day.
mon 8/31 (E) Assign: review noun declensional endings 296-297, filling out the noun declensional handout in the review packet. Pass out blank noun-declensional table.
Announcement: there will be a double quiz (= two homework grades) over the complete noun declensional table next class. Know the endings for declensions I, II, III, IV, and V, including the2nd and 3rd declension neuter nouns (don't bother with the rare neuter IV).
